Human Rights Watch (HRW) ist ein US-amerikanischer Propaganda-Club mit Sitz in New York, der behauptet, sich die Wahrung der Menschenrechte auf die Fahne geschrieben zu haben.

Human Rights Watch hat laut Wikipedia[1] 233 hauptamtliche Mitarbeiter und verfügte im Geschäftsjahr 2006 über ein Jahresbudget von 29,8125 Millionen US-Dollar.

Paul Treanor behauptet auf einer Webseite darauf hin, dass die Aussage von Human Rights Watch, sie würden keine Regierungsmittel, weder direkt noch indirekt akzeptieren, eine Lüge ist[2]:
"In its Annual Reports, HRW always claims that it "accepts no government funds, directly or indirectly." However, that was a lie according to the 1995 list, and it is still a lie. The Dutch Novib - now part of the Oxfam group - is a government-funded aid organisation, and in turn it funded the activities of Human Rights Watch Africa in the Great Lakes region and Angola. Oxfam itself is primarily funded by the British government and the European Union, see their annual report. It is also funded by the United States Agency for International Development, USAID. Oxfam in turn partly funds Novib, so some of that money finds it way to HRW. Both Oxfam and Novib funded the HRW report on the Rwanda genocide. So, if it is as accurate as HRW's claim not to accept any indirect government funding, look elsewhere for the truth."

Paul Treanor publizierte 2004 eine Liste von Großspendern mit Beträgen über 100.000 US-Dollar, in der neben George Soros und der Rockefeller Foundation auch die bereits als Tarnorganisation der CIA aufgeflogene Ford Foundation vertreten ist[2].

Human Rights Watch beteiligte sich im Jahr 2008 an der von den USA gesteuerten Kampagne[3] zur Destabilisierung Chinas durch das Schüren blutiger Unruhen in der Provinz Tibet, in dem Human Rights Watch versuchte, Sponsoren der olympischen Spiele 2008 unter Druck zu setzen[4].

Human Rights Watch betreibt ebenso intensive wie inhaltsleere Stimmungsmache gegen den populären Präsidenten von Venezuela, Hugo Chávez. Amerika21 berichtete im September 2008, dass der Amerika-Direktor von HRW, José Miguel Vivanco, sowie sein Stellvertreter Daniel Wilkinson aus Venezuela ausgewiesen wurden, nachdem sie versucht hatten, mit falschen Fakten Stimmung gegen den von der US-Regierung ungeliebten Chávez zu machen[5].
